THOUSANDS of families have gathered in Melbourne to watch one of Australia's most famous Carols by Candlelight.
Singer Silvie Paladino and Harrison Craig from The Voice opened the show to a screaming crowd at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne's Botanical Gardens.

Up to 10,000 people crammed into the venue wearing Santa hats and tinsel on Christmas Eve.
This year the event was hosted by David Campbell and Lisa Wilkinson and the crowd went wild when Campbell hinted he would sing a Christmas tune later in the night.

Vision Australia ambassador Rachael Leahcar dazzled the crowd for a second year in a row, wearing a gold dress singing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.
Other guest stars included Santa, Anthony Callea, Hugh Sheridan, Steve Clisby and Marina Prior.
