Nearly two dozen people in Melbourne's CBD have been arrested during a weekend police blitz on drug trafficking.
Officers targeted nightclubs and car parks near King Street for GHB and ecstasy use after six people overdosed in the area a week earlier.
But three people still overdosed this weekend during the police operation and had to be taken to hospital.
Acting Inspector Mark Wilmott says young people need to realise that drugs are dangerous and made by criminals who don't care about safety.
"It's disappointing that despite the warnings some people still choose to ignore the risks associated with drug use," he said in a statement.
An 18-year-old was charged during the operation with drug trafficking and possession.
Several others are expected to be charged on summons for drug offences.
Sixteen people were placed on a drug diversion program.
