Seven people have been evacuated after a fire in a vacant shop in Melbourne's east.
Fire crews were called to the shop in Burwood Road, Hawthorn, in the early hours of Sunday after a fire started on the second level.
Seven people were evacuated from the residence next door as a precaution.
The fire is considered suspicious and the arson squad is investigating.
