BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —
Brevard County deputies are searching for the suspect who they believe may be responsible for more than a half dozen home burglaries in the Melbourne area.
Since late March, there have been eight residential burglaries in the Suntree and Viera areas of Brevard County, according to investigators. All of the burglaries happened between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Additionally, deputies said the suspect broke a sliding glass door to get inside each of the homes.
In the most recent break-in, the suspect threw a brick through the sliding glass door of a home in the Crystal Lake neighborhood off of Interlachen Road.
Deputies said the suspect was confronted by a resident inside the home. He pointed a gun at the victim before fleeing on foot, according to investigators.
The suspect is described as a black male with short black hair. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and carrying an orange backpack, deputies said. The suspect was seen walking through two different neighborhoods in the area.
Deputies released a composite sketch of the suspect Friday night. Anyone with information is asked to call the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
