A Jarryd Hayne-inspired NSW has taken a 1-0 lead in the 2014 State of Origin series, with a determined 12-8 victory over Queensland in game one on Wednesday night.

The Herald Sun understands it is game two between Queensland and New South Wales that will be played at the MCG.

It looms as a first for the likes of Melbourne Storm superstars Cameron Smith, Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk and Ryan Hoffman, who have never played at the famous venue.

It will be the fourth time Origin has been played at the MCG and the first since 1997.
