MELBOURNE forward Ryan Hoffman has agreed to join the New Zealand Warriors next season, a move which is likely to mean teammate Kevin Proctor rejects rival offers and re-signs with the Storm.

Although he received an offer from the Storm, it was trumped by a more lucrative three-year deal from the Warriors. Hoffman ultimately found the offer too good to refuse, meaning this will be his last season in Melbourne.

The Storm will now be able to accommodate Proctor, who was the target of bids from St George Illawarra and the Sydney Roosters.

While Hoffman will leave the Storm at season’s end, Tohu Harris yesterday inked a new deal which will keep him at the club until the end of 2017.

Harris, who played for New Zealand in the Test match last Friday night, is a graduate of the club’s under 20s program.

“Tohu is only in his second year of first grade and has already played some outstanding footy with us, with plenty more to come,” Melbourne football manager Frank Ponissi said.

“He is a player who really lets his action on the field do the talking. His signing is great news for Melbourne Storm for now and for the future.”
