Color run hits Melbourne - MSN NZ News

About 22,000 people dressed in white running gear took to Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse yesterday for the 2013 Swisse Color Run.

Participants were showered with pink, blue, yellow and orange coloured powder, made from natural corn starch, as they made their away around a five-kilometre course.

Almost 7,000kg of colour was used across the day, turning the runners into a rainbow explosion.

The Color Run was founded in January 2012 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”.

There are now more than 170 events in 30 countries around the world.
