Melbourne boy shot in head - Ninemsn



October 24, 2013: Police in Melbourne are searching for a gunman who shot a student in the head and arm during end-of-year celebrations at a school in the city's northwest.



A 17-year-old Melbourne boy was on his way to plan a muck-up day prank when he was shot in the head, according to reports.




The boy, who is believed to be a year 12 student, was hit in the head and arm with pellets near Percy St, St Albans, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, The Age reports.


It is believed he was walking with a group of students who were on their way to plan a prank when they were shot at from a passing car, Melbourne radio station 3AW reports.


Police believe the likely weapon used in the attack was as shotgun.


The boy was taken to Sunshine Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.


Police are investigating.
