A man has been charged with stabbing a passer-by after trying to force his way into the ABC's Melbourne studios last night.
Police were called to the the ABC's Southbank building at 10.00pm after a man armed with a knife repeatedly slammed his body into glass doors at the building's entrance.
It is alleged the man stabbed a passer-by in his left shoulder after he was refused entry to the studios.
Nicholas Williams, 38, of Ascot Vale, was arrested on St Kilda Road a short time later.
He has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, weapon offences, and assault.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.
Police media spokeswoman Creina O'Grady says it is believed Williams had an issue with the broadcaster.
"He has told police he was angry with the ABC," she said.
The victim is recovering in the Royal Melbourne Hospital with minor injuries.
