AS it wings its way across the Pacific to Melbourne this week, Australia's first Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be watched closely by a team in a small room at the US manufacturers sprawling facilities in Everett, near Seattle.
The Boeing 787 operational control centre (OCC), which sifts through thousands of parameters as it monitors the health of the more than 90 Dreamliners already flying, has been checking out Jetstar's new 787 during test flights and pilot training.
