North Melbourne, Melbourne, Richmond, St Kilda And West Coast Expected To ... - TripleM Sydney (blog)

North Melbourne, Melbourne, Richmond, St Kilda And West Coast Expected To Wheel And Deal Before Deadline Post by: Triple M Footy 26 October, 2012 - 8:57 AM

The AFL Trade Period ends at 2pm on Friday. We will update this article with news all day.

North Melbourne and Melbourne are expected to wheel and deal with each other on the last day of the AFL's trade period which would see North's Cam Pedersen become a Demon and the Roos receive either pick 49 or Jordan Gysberts.

The Roos are also expected to trade forward Aaron Edwards to Richmond, reportedly for pick 74.

The Eagles have made their intentions clear all along in regards to wanting to secure the services of St Kilda's Jamie Cripps, but won't give up key backman Mitch Brown in a swap for Cripps and pick 25.

The Eagles have switched their focus to trading a third-round pick for Melbourne midfielder Cale Morton, and The Age is reporting West Coast will give up pick 88 - the one it recieved when it traded Lewis Stevenson to Port - for Morton. The Demon is seen by West Coast's footy department as a player who could curtail the loss of midfielder Koby Stevens, who was traded to the Bulldogs on Wednesday.

Speculation continues over the future of Essendon defender, Cale Hooker. The Herald Sun reported on Thursday the Bombers could send Hooker to the Saints in a three-way trade which would potentially see Cripps end up an Eagle.

St Kilda is also expected to exchange a late pick in exchange for out-of-favour Sydney Swan Trent Denis-Lane, according to The Age.

Meanwhile, a deal to trade controversial Crow Tippett to the Swans may still go ahead despite an AFL investigation into his 2009 contract with Adelaide unlikely to be completed by the 2pm trade deadline. Talks between the Crows and Swans have stalled though, and clubs like the Gold Coast Sun have said they would look at how they could get Tippett if no trade is made.

Any trade Tippett would be involved in before the deadline could be subject to change, one would think, if the league finds the Crows, Tippett and his manager, Peter Blucher, guilty of offences such as draft tampering and salary cap cheating.
