Despite being the underdogs in their semi-final clash with Geelong at the MCG, North Melbourne fans are confident their boys can come out firing and beat the Cats on Friday night.

Alastair Clarkson's Hawthorn has well and truly broken the Kennett Curse – and North Melbourne can learn a lot from the way it has managed to overturn its bad record against the decade's most successful team.
Hawthorn broke Geelong's 11-game winning streak over it last year to win a place in the grand final. This year, Clarkson's team has beaten Geelong twice in three meetings, the most recent last week's finals clash.
It has done that in large part by pairing a shutdown of Geelong's outside run with a dominance of its own outside speedsters. And it is not the only team to spot the sizeable chink in Geelong's armour, more and more sides exploiting the Cats on the outside this year.

"I think we've got the game plan now and we've worked out what the best way to beat Geelong is," Hawthorn forward Luke Breust said this week.
