Fatherhood, finals footy, and 'Uncle Chris'

North Melbourne coach Brad Scott reflects on "an awesome week", where he has become a father for the first time and now prepares to face "Uncle Chris" at the MCG on Friday night.

The demands on an AFL coach's time are extraordinary enough during the regular season and even more so when his team is involved in finals, let alone when he's also just become a father for the first time.

But North Melbourne coach Brad Scott didn't look like a man feeling the pinch when he fronted the media at Arden Street on Thursday before the Kangaroos' sudden-death semi-final against Geelong at the MCG.

In fact, Scott was positively buoyant about both fatherhood and the opportunity to take North further down the finals track, as far as they've been since 2007.

"It's been just an awesome week," said Scott, still basking in the glow of a new son, Fletcher, whom his wife Penny had delivered on Tuesday morning.
