NEW Zealand international Jesse Bromwich has signed a new, four-year deal to remain at Melbourne Storm.
A number of Sydney clubs – led by Cronulla – were chasing the in-form front-rower.
But the 24-year-old – who was man of the match against Penrith – has followed in the footsteps of skipper Cameron Smith by remaining loyal to Storm.
“Jesse’s signing is terrific news for Melbourne Storm, it’s another great announcement for the club and a key part of our retention strategy,” Storm football manager Frank Ponissi said.
“Jesse has progressed into an elite footballer who also has shown his leadership potential.
“He’s a big guy with good footwork and is very consistent. It’s not only the metres he makes each week, but he is smart with the footy too.”

Melbourne has also moved to secure the long-term future of rising star Cameron Munster.
The club has signed the Queenslander until the end of 2017 - a strong reflection of how highly they rate the 19-year-old backline payer.
Munster is yet to make his first-grade debut.
He has played mostly at fullback, but the club believes he could develop into a five-eighth.
Kiwi Slade Griffin has also signed a new two-year deal with Melbourne.
