ESSENDON skipper Jobe Watson has a funny knack of playing big games when his club is under fire and tonight has been no different.
Watson gathered a career-high 24 possessions in the first half to help his side to a 20-point lead.
It hasn’t been a lone hand however, senior players Brendon Goddard and Paul Chapman have also been dominant.

Chapman inspired his new side to a seven-point lead at quarter time with two of the first three goals of the game and a hand in the fourth, as the Bombers skipped away to an early lead.
North Melbourne looked stunned early and wasted opportunities going forward, but a Lindsay Thomas goal and a classy finish from Nick Dal Santo go it back into the game.
The game has been played in surges and North took the lead in the second term, but a strong mark and goal from Joe Daniher swung the game back in Essendon’s favour.
Ruckman Todd Goldstein left the field midway through the term, but returned to play out the second quarter.
More to come ...
