Tennis Australia has rolled out the red carpet to a host of international and home-grown stars with VIP invites sent to high-profile actors, athletes, musicians and models.
Aussie movie stars Rachel Griffiths and Eric Bana, Kiss frontman Gene Simmons, Avatar actor Sam Worthington and model girlfriend Lara Bingle are among other stars officially invited.
Tournament director Craig Tiley hoped the rich and famous could give the Open an extra buzz.
"As the biggest sporting event in the world in January, the AO is the hottest ticket in town,'' he said.
"We look forward to welcoming the biggest names in Australian sport, music and showbiz and are always happy to accommodate international stars escaping the northern winter."
