CHRISSY Amphlett will be honoured with a tribute concert in Melbourne later this year.
The late singer's husband Charley Drayton is in the process of planning the event for her birth month of October.
An A-list of Australian musicians will be approached to perform their interpretations of Divinyls songs.
"We want to have a night to share with all of her fans and loved ones," Drayton said. ``I'm working on putting it together now."
The concert would raise money for multiple scleroris and breast cancer charities.
Drayton and Amphlett's aunt Patricia Amphlett, aka 60s pop star Little Pattie came to Melbourne for a private memorial for the late Divinyls singer on Thursday.
Paul Kelly and Vika and Linda Bull were amongst those who performed.
"It was a memorial service we'll all remember, it was just beautiful," Pattie said. ``I kept thinking how much Chrissy would have loved it. We all have to get along with our lives without her. Coming to terms with that is difficult, I almost don't like to use the word closure, because we won't ever forget her, but I think we're able to deal with it better now."
"It was one of the best nights of my life," Drayton added. ``We had a silent moment so we could all have a conversation with Chrissy."
The pair also used their time in Melbourne to hand over a petition for a Chrissy Amphlett Lane in the CBD to Melbourne City Council.
Rohan Leppert, the councillor for Arts and Culture at the City of Melbourne, will table the petition on July 30.
"Obviously, these things needs to go through a process but I am happy to get that process started," Leppert said.
"Music is an integral part of Melbourne and an essential element of our 24-hour city. Our reputation for being a city of music is well established and this is thanks to the great musicians such as Chrissy, as well as the punters, events, festivals and live music venues."
While Chrissy Amphlett was born in Geelong Little Pattie said ``her heart was in Melbourne."
"The outpouring of love was so strong and so heartfelt, everyone's run with this idea for a Chrissy Amphlett Laneway and we've been overwhelmed with people wanting her to be remembered forever," she said.
"What a lovely way to remember her that would be. Chrissy would be extremely happy with the idea of a laneway, and she'd also be really happy with how I Touch Myself has now taken on a new life for checking for signs of breast cancer."
Drayton also confirmed he is hoping to release unheard material Amphlett had been working on in New York over the past few years.
"It'll take a little time to get into the goods but there are some things we definitely need to share," he said. "Things everybody needs to know about."
Drayton, who drummed for Cold Chisel on their last Australian tour, met Amphett while recording their self-titled album that contained I Touch Myself.
The Chrissy Amphlett Laneway petition has been extended for those who wish to lend their signature to the cause.
