A man accused of murdering a self-proclaimed vampire is on his way back to Melbourne to face court after spending years on the run.
Mark Adrian Perry, 45, left Perth on a flight on Thursday and is expected to touch down in Melbourne just before 6pm.
Perry is charged with murdering male gigolo Shane Chartres-Abbott, who was gunned down outside his Melbourne home in 2003.
The fugitive was captured at a factory in the Perth suburb of Morley at about 6.45pm on Tuesday.
Perry faced court in Perth on Wednesday and was extradited to Melbourne.
He will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
Chartres-Abbott was gunned down by two men in front of his girlfriend and father in 2003.
At the time of his death the 28-year-old male gigolo was on trial for the rape of a female client, who told police he believed he was a vampire who needed to drink blood to survive.
Police say one man assaulted Mr Chartres-Abbott's pregnant girlfriend and father while another shot him dead.
The murder was revenge for a 2002 rape, police have alleged.
Two other people have previously been charged over the killing.
Perry had lived in Queensland, Western Australia and Thailand over the years but a $1 million reward in 2009 failed to flush him out of hiding.
He was last seen in Queensland in September 2007, but was believed to be living under a new identity and may have changed his appearance.
Police have not said how they finally tracked Perry down.
