TWO houses have been destroyed in separate fires in Melbourne.
A house in Cairnlea was extensively damaged by fire, heat and smoke just after midnight.
Firefighters also reported the alleged discovery of illicit drugs at the site.
Just over an hour later, a house in Sunshine West was severely damaged by fire and may have to be demolished.
Large sections of the roof collapsed as firefighters fought the blaze.
The causes of the fires are being investigated.
Neither house was occupied at the time.
