THE Melbourne Rebels missed out on securing Israel Folau as a foundation player three years ago because the Australian Rugby Union was prepared to pay only $70,000 for him.
Folau, arguably one of the hottest rugby properties in the world following his sensational two-try Test debut against the British and Irish Lions in Brisbane last weekend, will enjoy a homecoming of sorts in the second Test tomorrow night in Melbourne where he played for the Storm in the NRL in 2007-08.
