Under-siege AFL club Melbourne have appointed former Essendon administrator Peter Jackson as their interim chief executive.
Jackson, the former long-time chief executive at Essendon, will temporarily fill the position created by Cameron Schwab's departure last week.
Both the Demons and AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou confirmed the move on Thursday.
Jackson spent 13 years at Essendon before his 2009 departure, and has most recently been chairman of AFL Victoria.
