Charges over alleged Melbourne hit-and-run - The Australian




A MAN has been charged over an alleged hit-and-run in Melbourne last week.



Police are investigating a collision at the intersection of Lygon and Barkly streets at Brunswick East around 9.45pm (AEST) on Saturday.


A 61-year-old man was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition after being struck by a motorcycle.


It's alleged the motorcycle rider did not stop at the scene.


Officers searched a house at Fitzroy North on Tuesday night, seizing two motorcycles and a trailer.


A 33-year-old man was charged with reckless conduct endangering life, recklessly and negligently causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing injury, careless driving, theft of motor vehicle, theft and handling stolen goods.


He was granted bail and will appear in Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on June 5.
