GOSFORD, Australia - Striker Daniel McBreen's 42nd-minute goal gave the Central Coast Mariners a 1-0 win Sunday over the Melbourne Victory and a place in next weekend's A-League grand final against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
On Friday, the Wanderers, who finished in first place in their inaugural season, beat defending champions Brisbane 2-0.
Dino Kresinger gave the Wanderers a 1-0 lead before a sellout crowd of nearly 20,000 at Parramatta Stadium. Former Japan international Shinji Ono secured the match in the 72nd minute for the Wanderers.
The grand final will be played next Sunday at Sydney Football Stadium.
