Operation Correcting saw 14 search warrants executed at 11 homes in Niddrie, Keilor East, Coburg, Brunswick, Craigieburn and Broadmeadows about 7am.
Police also seized drugs, cash and prohibited weapons.
The eight people arrested included:

Several paper bags filled with drugs were also removed from the house.
A man was taken away in handcuffs from a home on Morris Crt, Meadow Heights about 10.30am as police removed bags of evidence from the property.
Detective Acting Snr Sergeant Craig Spencer from the Moreland CIU said the raids had come after “months of planning”.

Members of the Crime Investigation Unit, Divisional Response Unit and Canine Unit were involved in the rads.
Drugs seized would be taken to a Victoria Police forensic facility in McLeod where they would be tested, Acting Snr Sgt Spencer said.
He could not say what the dollar value of the seized drugs was.
He said it was “critically important” to stem the flow of ice by cracking down on dealers.
“Victoria Police takes drug trafficking seriously. This is a community issue and a health issue. It’s a community burden,” he said.
“This type of offending is not acceptable.
“We will continue to try and stem the flow of drug trafficking and ice being trafficked in the community.”
Acting Snr Sgt Spencer said the raids were not related to the seizure of $300,000 worth of ice along with $200,000 cash, $90,000 worth of casino chips and a firearm from a car that was randomly pulled over in Heidelberg Heights on Monday.
The operation was not linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs.
