Former Melbourne Grammar School student Easton Woodhead, 20, will plead not guilty to the murder of a homeless man in Enterprize Park on January 5.
His plea was entered after Magistrate Peter Reardon concluded there was enough evidence to place him on trial for the murder of Morgan Wayne "Mouse" Perry.
It is alleged the private school graduate killed the 42-year-old father-of-four in an early morning attack.
Witnesses told the court Mr Woodhead visited the encampment and repeatedly asked about his stolen Holden motorbike. The vehicle was allegedly in Mr Perry's possession.
