One shot dead, two stabbed in Melbourne - Sky News Australia


One person has been shot dead and two people have been stabbed in Melbourne's southeast, police say.


Sky News understands the victim was making threats against the Prime Minister Tony Abbott.


The two people who were stabbed have been taken to hospital, and it is understood one is an AFP officer and the other is a Victoria police officer.


It is not yet known what led to the incident, which occurred on Heatherton Rd in Endeavour Hills.


The area is in lock down and there is a heavy police prescence including the Echo Taskforce on the scene.


The Victorian Premier and police minister have been made aware of the incident.


Victoria Police said later both officers were in a stable condition.


Homicide squad detectives are on scene and will investigate the incident on behalf of the coroner.
