A ride at the Royal Melbourne Show left thrillseekers hanging twice today, as cars literally stopped in their tracks.
The 300 metre long Taipan rollercoaster broke down around 1pm on Thursday, leaving some riders stranded at the apex of the track for about half an hour.
The problem was seemingly fixed and rides resumed, only for cars to slow to a halt again about an hour later, this time for five minutes.

A Royal Melbourne Show spokeswoman said "at no stage" was the safety of patrons compromised.
