A local man was shot and killed on Labor Day, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
Police said Alphonso Jacobs, 31, was shot multiple times at the Shull Manor apartment complex on University Boulevard just after 4 p.m. Monday.
Jacobs was transported to the hospital with critical injuries and later died.
A suspect has not been named in the case, but police believe a teal, four-door Saturn may be connected to the shooting.
The homicide is under investigation.
