The only member of a high-profile committee who did not resign in anger at the direction of the Napthine government’s Plan Melbourne strategy has been appointed to the board of the state’s Metropolitan Planning Authority.
Brian Haratsis is a senior economic planner with 30 years experience who sat on the Plan Melbourne ministerial advisory committee.
He was the only person who did not tender his resignation to Planning Minister Matthew Guy last August, citing concerns about the direction the plan was taking.
Mr Haratsis is also believed to have worked alongside the planning minister’s chief of staff Richard Brice. According to Mr Brice’s LinkedIn profile he spent more than seven years as the general manager of MacroPlan, a planning consulting company Mr Haratsis founded.
