The homicide squad has taken over investigations into the death of a woman whose body was found in Kings Domain on Saturday morning.
Police have confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious but are yet to determine if it is a murder investigation.
Investigators are working to identify the woman, who was found by early morning joggers in the garden area behind the Victoria Police Memorial on St Kilda road.
SES have set up tents on St Kilda Road after a woman's body was found.
Police were called about 7.30am when passers-by saw the woman lying in the park, approached to help and saw she was dead.
