The Victorian government has sold the rights to build a third international container terminal at the Port of Melbourne to consortium Victorian International Container Terminal Pty Ltd.
The consortium is made up of Anglo Ports Pty Ltd and Philippines-based group International Container Terminal Services Inc.
The consortium will invest $440 million plus capital investment in the project, which will create 200 jobs, Victorian Minister for Ports David Hodgett told reporters.
The first containers are expected to be loaded in late 2016.
