Melbourne workmates share in massive $15 million Tattslotto jackpot - Herald Sun

A GROUP of Melbourne workmates have become the state’s newest millionaires after sharing in a mammoth $15 million Tattslotto prize this week.

The 16 punters — members of a workplace syndicate aged in their 30s to 50s — earned almost $1 million each with the division one win in last night’s draw.

One of the winners said his buddies thought he was “joking around” when he called to tell them the good news.

“We always play the big Oz Lotto jackpot draws together,” he said.

“We’re all planning to do things like pay off the mortgage and take a holiday.”

Another winner said he wouldn’t be quitting his job over the haul, but would treat his share as a “retirement bonus”.

The mystery group, which split the jackpot prize of $30 million with a couple from the Gold Coast, bought the golden ticket at Doncaster East’s Pines Lotto & Confectionery.

The store’s owner of 15 years, Grace Long, said it was easily the most lucrative ticket she had ever sold.

“It’s good news,” she said.

“Hopefully it might help with business.”

The winning numbers were 32, 12, 3, 23, 40, 2 and 19, with supplementaries 6 and 37.
