A suburban street in Melbourne’s north has been rocked by an explosion that seriously injured a man and sparked fears a bomb was planted in a car.
The explosion happened about 9am when the 29-year-old man tried to start his Ford Mondeo in a driveway on Kiewa Crescent, Dallas.

A Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said they received several reports of an explosion.
