MAJOR pre-dawn police raids targeting a Middle Eastern organised crime syndicate have been held across Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs this morning.
The raids took place in Altona North, Campbellfield, Truganina and Sunshine.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Senior Constable Melissa Seach said the search warrants were executed following investigations by Santiago Taskforce.

Police have not released details of arrests.
A press conference is expected to be held in the coming hours.
Santiago Taskforce deals with organised crime families and was formed in October 2008.
