Taylor Swift proved tonight why she is one of the biggest stars in the world – because she has got what it takes to get an entire stadium of people up on their feet and dancing.
Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium was packed full of girls aged 0-80, with plenty of boyfriends, husbands and dads along for the ride. The atmosphere was electric, and there were thousands of fans who had gone to the extra effort of dressing in Red themed costumes.
Neon Trees kicked things off with a fun set of their hit tunes, and even donned some Taylor Swift masks. They were followed by our own Guy Sebastian, who had his Australian Idol runner up Shannon Noll in the audience. As usual Guy delivered a killer set.

Then it was time for the main event. The reason why we were all spending our Saturday night in the Docklands. The current reigning princess of pop. The only artist who can still sell a million copies of an album in its first week of sales. The one and only Taylor Swift.
Taylor opened with State Of Grace, and the followed it up with Holy Ground. There was a good mix of Red album tracks and her hit songs, and most people seemed to know every word. A cute moment came when Taylor announced that yesterday was her 24th birthday, and the audience immediately responded by singing Happy Birthday.
There were plenty of costume changes, with most of the outfits involving a pair of high waisted shorts. Taylor’s dancers kept things interesting on stage, and Taylor even took the time to introduce them all to the crowd. She also has one of the best bands in the business, and the Agency were definitely on fire tonight.
One exciting moment for me was watching the girls in front of me get given wristbands to Club Red, by none other than Taylor Swift’s mum Andrea! The girls were decked out in fairy lights and glow sticks, and didn’t sit down once for the whole show. They most definitely deserved the experience!

Too soon it was all over. It seemed like only minutes had passed before Taylor was being lifted up above the audience during the final song, which of course was We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. All up, it was a spectacular show. Come back soon Taylor. Australia loves you.
