A POLICEMAN has been burnt after being hit by a flammable liquid thrown at him in Melbourne's southeast.
The officer had been called to a house in Elm Grove, Parkdale, when a vessel containing the liquid was thrown at him.
He has been treated for minor burns.
Police converged on the scene at 1.20pm after reports a man was threatening self-harm.
Officers are continuing to negotiate with him.
Victoria Police have called a media conference near the siege site at 3.30pm.
