A MELBOURNE quad mum has lost one of her babies in utero.

The Herald Sun reported in June that Kristie Hoskins and partner Simon Gregory were expecting quadruplets.

It is understood that Ms Hoskins, who already had three sons, carried the babies until late September, giving birth by caesarian section.

Tragically, one of her daughters, Sunny, was stillborn. Another daughter and two sons, named Matilda, Oliver and Parker, were born just over 1.5kg and are still in hospital, but healthy.

Ms Hoskins has posted photos of her expanding pregnant belly on her 4 More to Adore Facebook page. The hugely popular page has now been taken down.

Ms Hoskins told the Herald Sun in June that she and her partner had decided to try one more time for a little girl.

She spoke about discovering during an ultrasound that they were actually having quads.

``That's when I cried and said `stop counting','' Ms Hoskins said at the time. ``I think it was just a shock. I think it's a bit hard to process four babies.

``Now it's like it's awesome, they're our babies. We just want everything to go OK.

"We used to have an ultrasound and be scared they'd find a fifth one; now we are scared they will find three.

``I just keep telling myself I can't change anything that is going to happen. I just have to be relaxed, calm and enjoy the pregnancy.''

Celebrity agent Max Markson has brokered a deal for the couple with New Idea.

Mr Markson said last night Ms Hoskins was enjoying her babies immensely.
