With a man in the sky and the Looney Tunes gang on the ground, the Royal Melbourne Show is promising excitement from high to low.
Death-defying skywalks, an illusionist or two and an array of lovable cartoon characters are just a small part of the entertainment on offer this year at the event which runs between September 21 and October 2.
Fresh from his Las Vegas shows, American comic daredevil Bello Nock will be taking to the skies in an Australian-first: walking across a tightrope suspended 30 metres in the air, but without a safety net.
The flamboyant performer is one of just five people able to perform the terrifying act.
He said the turbulent Melbourne winds weren't assisting in his preparations either.
"It is unbelievable how much Melbourne winds change at that height," he said on Friday, explaining how in the 90 seconds it takes him to reach the boom, the winds can increase by 10km/h.
On the ground, family favourites the Looney Tunes gang and Yo Gabba Gabba! will be performing on stage while Masters of Illusion Adam and Selina Murby seek to dazzle crowds with an array of magical deceptions.
The Australian brother-sister duo said they were planning on pulling a number of new tricks out of the bag for their debut show performance.
"We've got quite a few new illusions for the show that people have never seen before," Mr Murby said.
"Some of our tricks have been three years in the making," Ms Murby added.
The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria CEO Mark O'Sullivan said organisers are expecting around 500,000 visitors to the showgrounds over the course of the event.
