Pilots say that lasers have been pointed at their aircraft at Melbourne's busiest airport overnight.

Air Services Australia spokesman Graham Robinson said pilots landing at Tullamarine Airport reported sightings of two lasers shone at their airplanes about 11pm, within five minutes of each other.

Because the airplanes were still in the air, the incidents were under the jurisdiction of Victoria Police. Incidents relating to grounded airplanes, however, were the responsibility of the Australian Federal Police, Mr Robinson said.

A police spokesman said officers were looking into the reports.
