Football Federation Victoria communications consultant Sammie Black said FFV was now investigating the matter.

Black added FFV has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to violence on the football field.

North Sunshine Eagles recently received a $7500 fine and loss of nine premiership points for an incident earlier this year.

The result of Wednesday's game, a 6-1 victory for Melton, is expected to stand as Football Federation Victoria rules stipulate if 80 per cent of a game is completed the result stands.

Melton Phoenix sits on top of table, needing just two points to claim the title.

Neither club would comment on the incident.
