A 23-year-old Melbourne woman has reportedly survived the deadly terrorist attacks at a shopping centre in Nairobi which have left more than 50 people dead and 200 wounded.
Eltham woman Sarah Williamson was in the mall with her father, who works for the UN, when she heard the first explosions, Fairfax Radio Network reported.
"She heard the first grenade go off and said, 'What was that, dad?'" her mother Linda has told the network.
"Then he heard the guns firing and he knew exactly what it was and he said, "We're under attack, everybody to the back of the room'."
Ms Williamson sought shelter from the attack in a nearby phone store and was trapped there for about six hours.
She was accompanied by her father, who works in Kenya.
Ms Williamson's mother, Linda, said her daughter was terrified but managed to escape from the shopping centre.
At this stage, no Australians have been identified among those dead or injured.
