Fire crews contain large blaze at Melbourne factory - ABC Online

Fire crews have contained a large blaze that has destroyed a factory at Dandenong South in south-east Melbourne.


About 100 firefighters from the Country Fire Authority and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade were called to the blaze on Dunlopillo Drive.


Enormous plumes of black smoke billowed from the factory and blanketted the area.


At leas 30 fire trucks were called to the scene.


Crews are expected to remain at the scene for several hours before clean-up operations can begin.


The Country Fire Authority (CFA) says no other properties in the industrial area are at risk.


It has also asked residents to keep their windows closed.


The cause of the fire is not yet known.
