THE sunny spring weather enjoyed by Melburnians last week appears to have taken a hike.
Low temperatures, spatterings of rain and cloudy conditions have been forecast for the city this week.
Bureau of Meteorology spokesman Scott Williams said a warm 23C was expected for Melbourne tomorrow.
But winds averaging about 50km/h and gusts of 75km/h to 80k/h and a high pollen count would make the day unpleasant, he said.
Wind warnings have been issued for Port Phillip Bay, Western Port and Bass Strait coastal waters.
Mr Williams said it was possible winds could become dangerous, especially in alpine and higher-ground areas.
A thunderstorm could also hit Melbourne tomorrow night, bringing with it a cool change, but only light rain.
Mr Williams said the mercury is expected to hover between 15C to 18C for the rest of the week, below average for this time of year.
Small showers, bringing a couple of millimetres of rain each day, and overcast conditions are also expected from Tuesday to Saturday.
"This is fairly typical of spring - we get bouts of delightful weather, but also some unpleasant windy days," he said.
Bandiana in the state's northeast experienced minor flooding this morning, with the Kiewa River rising to flood riverbanks.
The flooding was expected to continue into tomorrow, but State Emergency Service spokesman Stefan Delatovic said it was not impacting the town and its residents.
