With his Liverpool team-mates yet to arrive in Melbourne following Saturday's friendly game in Jakarta, Indonesia, Suarez is not expected to meet Rodgers until late Sunday evening in the club's hotel.
Formal talks between the pair are not expected to take place until Monday at the earliest, with Rodgers due to speak to the media at 11.30am local time tomorrow.
With Suarez yet to start training this summer, it is unlikely he will figure in Wednesday's sell-out friendly against Melbourne Victory at the MCG.
But the players is expected to come face to face with Liverpool supporters for the first time since his transfer request when he trains in Australia this week.
Before Suarez's arrival, Rodgers dismissed any suggestion he might not turn up, saying: "He's on the plane and we will see him in Melbourne."
"I'm looking forward to seeing him, he's a player I've always supported. I understand the situation but the bottom line is he is employed by the club.
"The money goes into his bank at the end of every month, so he should be here. If he's not, which I doubt, there will be a problem."
