The most senior member of the Catholic Church in Victoria is giving evidence at the parliamentary inquiry into child sex abuse.
The Archbishop of Melbourne, Denis Hart, has previously apologised to victims of abuse, but he has denied there is been a cover-up of alleged abuse by clergy.
He is expected to be questioned by the parliamentary committee on the church's response to allegations of abuse.
