A sharp-dressed thief has robbed two Melbourne shops of cash, alcohol and cigarettes.
Dressed in a dark grey pinstripe suit, the man threatened an attendant at a bottle shop in Nicholson Street, Carlton North last Monday afternoon, police said.
The well-heeled crook took cash and alcohol, but apologised to the attendant and promised to repay the money.
Just 10 minutes later, the same man struck again at a newsagent further along Nicholson Street in Brunswick East.
He produced a knife and stole cash and cigarettes.
Police say they man is about 175cm tall, of Middle Eastern appearance, and was wearing a black shirt, grey tie and grey skate shoes.
