A MELBOURNE family has made a lucky escape from their burning home as the roof of their house caved in.
A man was woken by a loud bang and fled with his wife and daughter just as a fire tore through the roof and started to collapse into their Mount Waverley home, a Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said.
The family will be forced to move as the house suffered extensive damage and a partial roof collapse.
It's believed the fire was sparked by an electrical issue in the roof.
