Camilla and Charles attend 2012 Melbourne Cup in style! - Examiner.com

Duchess Camilla and Prince Charles attended the Melbourne Cup earlier today, November 6, 2012 in Melbourne, Australia as part of their Diamond Jubilee Tour to include Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.

Just to make them feel right at home, Melbourne, which gets its fair share of rain and cold from the South Pole, obliged the royal couple with a generous drizzle…

Prepared with her clear white umbrella for both visibility and security, Duchess Camilla donned an ivory and white ensemble including a white knee-length dress, topped with a white and ivory coat with lace detailing on the sleeves.

Camilla accessorized with her favorite pearl choker, a pearl brooch, an Armistice Day red poppy and pearl drop earrings as well as a small matching cream clutch and beige pumps.

Charles looked dapper in his blue pin-striped suit, teamed with pale blue shirt and striped black and white tie. In his breast pocket was a snazzy black and white striped kerchief and a trophy pink as well as a yellow rose boutonniere completed the look.

Fiona Burn, who was ever-present at the royal couple’s side as the good hostess, looked lovely in a coral colored skirt suit, teamed with a matching coral colored hat, blat patent leather shoes and matching black clutch.

Camilla was also tasked with presenting the Melbourne Cup trophy to horse owner Nick Williams for his horse Green Moon who won the day with jockey Brett Prebble.

Camilla and Charles are visiting Melbourne almost exactly 27 years later to the very day that Charles and Diana visited the racecourse!
